The City of Bennettsville is accepting applications for the position of Director of Public Works. Requires an Associate’s Degree; supplemented by a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a job- related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Under limited supervision, applicant must develop/manage department budget. Ensures that staff are performing daily tasks efficiently. Handles performance evaluations of all department staff. Responds to citizen requests. Maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies. Oversees the City Storm Water system. Ensures that maintenance of vehicles and building are handled. Maintains and updates 5-year Capital Plan. Plans and handles any other task handed down by the City Administrator or City Council. Applicant must have excellent communication skills (oral and written). A valid SC Driver’s License is required.
Starting salary is $65,471.12/yr. Starting salary will commensurate with years of experience.
