The City of Bennettsville has an opening for an Animal Control/Codes Enforcement Officer. Applicants should have a high school diploma supplemented by a minimum of 1 year of experience in the code’s enforcement field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. May require additional certifications. Possession of a valid SC Driver’s License is required.
Applicant will perform service work in the enforcement of ordinances regulating the keeping of animals within the municipality. Applicant will ensure public safety, animal welfare, and promoting responsible pet ownership. The applicant is tasked with handling various aspects of animal control, including responding to calls related to stray animals, investigating animal-related complaints, and educating the community about responsible pet ownership practices.
