Part-time Code Enforcement Officer

The City of Bennettsville has an opening in the Planning & Zoning Department for a Part-time Code Enforcement Officer.  Applicant will prepare maps and maintain files. Receive and record complaints. Resolve problems and handle enforcement issues. Check abandoned vehicles and vacant lots for compliance with appropriate ordinances and/or codes. Issue warnings and cease/desist orders and take appropriate actions when not in compliance. Answer questions from private citizens. Testify in court for code violation cases. Applicant should have a high school diploma supplemented by a minimum of 1 year of experience in a job-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid SC driver’s license.  Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook applications is desired.  Starting salary for this position is $16.69/hr.
